About Colorado Snow & Ice

Travelers experienced the art and science about Colorado’s cold stuff in DEN’s exhibit, “Colorado Snow & Ice.” Starry nighttime photographs, origami snowflakes, hand-painted original artworks were used for ski maps and whimsical interpretations of some of Colorado’s favorite peaks were just a few of the art samplings. Videos from helicopters capturing isolated avalanches, replicas of research snow pits and a handful of scientific gadgets helped to educate the range of studies about snow. Vintage and modern day recreational equipment such as sleds, lift tickets, ice skates and skis added to the fun. The exhibit featured origami art projects for travelers to enjoy.
