AirsideDrive Program

Any company or individual that has an approved business need to drive unescorted airside at DEN is eligible.  Enrollment is always subject to underwriting for final acceptance.

Most vehicles designed for travel on public roadways (e.g.  cars, pickups, vans, trucks, tractor-trailer semitrucks) are eligible.  Ineligible vehicles are those not designed for travel on public roadways, such as construction equipment, snow removal equipment, mobile equipment (e.g. scissor lifts, forklifts, golf carts), and aviation ground support vehicles (e.g. fuel trucks, tugs, baggage loaders), also ineligible are buses and autonomous vehicles.

Yes.  In general, drivers must be 23 years of age or older, however, younger drivers will be reviewed for acceptability but may be rejected.  Drivers with two or more minor movement violations in the last three years or any major violations in the last five years will require specific underwriter review and may be rejected.

You will need the following information to complete your online application to obtain a quote:

1. Company Information

Company Name (or sole proprietor name) listed here should be the same as it appears as the Named Insured (or Additional Named Insured) on your Auto Liability Insurance Policy and registered with Denver International Airport’s Security Program for Vehicle Permitting.

2. Point of Contact Information

The person appointed here as your contact must be the Authorized Signatory on file with DEN.

3. Auto Liability Insurance Information

Have your current policy on hand when applying and a current Certificate of Insurance to upload.  You must provide evidence of a minimum Auto Liability limit of $1M Combined Single Limit coverage.

4. Auto Liability Loss History

Have your current loss run on hand when applying.

5. Driver Information

Have driver’s license information on hand for all drivers you wish to include.

6. Vehicle Information

Year, Make, Model, VIN and Gross Weight will be required.

No.  All applicants are subject to final underwriting approval.

Not directly, but always a good idea to ensure you apprise them of your intent to participate in a separate insurance program so they are able to assist you with review and understanding of all coverage terms and conditions.

No.  However, you should confirm you are able to secure the required coverage and are prepared to have the insurance in place prior to doing business at DEN.  Obtaining a quote through DEN’s Airside Excess Auto Liability Program is a quick, no cost process.

No.  Your contract can be with the City or another entity operating at the airport (e.g.  airlines, concessionaires, construction contractors, FAA, TSA, etc.).

Insurance rating is a flat fully earned monthly fee based on vehicle classifications by gross vehicle weight.  As with most insurance programs, rates may be adjusted on an annual program basis.  Because coverage is limited to airside at DEN under this program, we estimate you will save up to 84% from the cost of obtaining traditional excess auto liability coverage; specific savings will vary.

Not at this time.  DEN will look at this factor once the program becomes successfully established.

To purchase excess coverage under this program you will provide either a credit card or  automatic bank withdrawal information (ACH).  Premium is billed monthly for the following month of coverage.  Premium is billed for the current month and following month for vehicles added during a month.

Yes.  You can enroll any eligible vehicle that you have obtained authorization from DEN to drive unescorted airside.  Enrollment is always subject to underwriting for final acceptance. Additionally, if you operate multiple vehicles unescorted airside at DEN and they are all insured under the same primary Auto Liability policy, you must enroll all your eligible vehicles under the DEN Airside Excess Auto Liability Program.

Yes.  However, your personal auto insurance policy will need to have a Business Use Endorsement.  Enrollment is always subject to underwriting for final acceptance.

Not at this time.  If you periodically drive airside but not every month, you may either (a) maintain coverage in place, regardless of utilization, so it is there when you need it or (b) cancel the excess coverage and have your vehicle permit deactivated and, at a later date, re-apply with DEN Security for airside driving and re-enroll in the excess insurance program.

Yes.  Just like any insurance policy, you can control your coverage by contacting TrueNorth to make desired changes.  However, if you cancel coverage mid-month you will not receive a partial credit for that active month; if you have already paid your premium for the following month, it will be refunded.

No.  The $9M excess auto liability is only provided when your vehicle is operated airside (inside the fence) at DEN.
