DENVER – June 9, 2026 – DEN announced today the opening of Owl Club of Denver: Legacies of Excellence, an exhibition of historic photographs celebrating the 75th anniversary of Denver’s oldest running cotillion club.
The Owl Club of Denver was founded in 1941 to provide a safe space for the African American community to socialize and build community during an era of strict racial segregation. Over the decades, the club evolved into a prominent cultural and civil rights pillar in the city. Today, their continued efforts are an example of the positive impact that comes from creating and staying in community.
Owl Club of Denver: Legacies of Excellence was created by History Colorado, in close partnership with the Owl Club of Denver, and features photographs from the Blair-Caldwell Branch of the Denver Public Library. The exhibition, on view now until mid-December, can be found across the A-Bridge, just before arriving on the Concourse A second-floor mezzanine.
