DEN Begins Installing New Security Cameras at West Economy Parking Lot

Home

DENVER – July 29, 2025 – As part of ongoing security enhancements, Denver International Airport (DEN) will begin preparation for the installation of 40 additional high-resolution security cameras in the West Economy Parking Lot beginning Thursday, July 31, 2025. The installation is expected to continue through the end of October, 2025.

Security Enhancements

The installation of cameras is part of a larger effort to enhance security across DEN’s parking facilities, including previous work conducted at the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot.

Closure Areas

Those planning to use the West Economy lot from July 31 through October must avoid parking in areas highlighted on this map due to utility work and camera installation. Vehicles found parked in those areas will be relocated to Section 1, Rows S/T through U/V. Vehicles currently parked in the impacted areas will only be relocated after 30 days have passed from today’s public notice in accordance with City and County of Denver Department of Aviation policy. Signage will be in place alerting people not to park in these locations.

The following West Economy Parking Lot rows will be impacted by closures:

  • Row A
  • Row DE/E
  • Row G
  • Row HJ/J
  • Row N
  • Row Q/R
  • Row V/W
  • Row AA
  • Row AA/BB
  • Row DD/EE
  • Row GG/HH

Closure areas are indicated on this interactive map.

Ongoing Construction

The installation of security cameras coincides with other ongoing facility upgrades. Surface rehabilitation at the West Economy Lot is expected to conclude at the end of September, 2025, impacting sections 2 and 3 with temporary closures.

West Garage accessibility improvements are also underway, impacting rows A-D and J-M. These portions are nearing completion. Work is expected to continue in the garage, with temporary closures of rows E-H, toward the end of September.
