Need Help Choosing the Best Parking Lot for Your Trip? DEN’s Ultimate Parking Guide Can Help!
DEN offers more than 10 parking options, ranging from garage parking a few steps away from the terminal to budget-friendly lots connected by shuttle or train via RTD’s A Line. The best choice depends on how long you’ll be gone, how much you’re willing to spend and how important convenience is to your travel experience.
Whether you’re flying out for a weekend getaway or leaving town for two weeks, this guide compares DEN’s parking options so you can find the right fit before you arrive. Picking up a family member or a friend? We’ll cover that too!
Which Parking Option Fits Your Trip?
Rather than starting with parking lot names, start with how you travel.
If convenience is your top priority
When you’re traveling with young children, carrying multiple bags or simply want the shortest path to check-in, the East and West Garages are the most convenient options.
Located adjacent to Jeppesen Terminal, both garages provide direct pedestrian access to the terminal without requiring a shuttle ride. Covered parking also provides protection from Colorado’s changing weather conditions
Premium Reserve Parking offers another convenient option and provides travelers with a guaranteed parking space through an advance reservation.
For travelers looking for the best accessible parking, East and West Garage are the way to go. ADA accessible parking is located on Level 1 of the West Garage and Levels 1,2, 4 and 5 of the East Garage.
If you’re looking for the best value
Many travelers find East and West Economy parking provides the best balance of price and proximity to the airport. The economy lots, located next to the East and West garages, cost less than garage parking while still offering easy access to the terminal.
Depending on where you park, you may choose to walk or use DEN’s free shuttle services to reach the airport.
If you’re taking a longer trip
For travelers leaving town for a week or more, small differences in daily parking rates can add up quickly.
Pikes Peak and Longs Peak lots are designed with long-term parking in mind and are among DEN’s most affordable airport-operated parking options. After parking, travelers board the complimentary shuttle service to the terminal operating 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week, every 7-10 minutes. While the trip requires additional travel time compared to the garages, many passengers find the savings worthwhile, particularly during longer trips.
DEN’s Passio Go app provides real-time locations of DEN’s shuttles, along with an estimated time of arrival and the number of minutes it’ll take to be dropped off at the Jeppesen Terminal. QR codes to access the Passio Go landing page can be found at every shuttle stop.
The 61st and Peña Station parking lot is another affordable option for longer stays. Instead of a shuttle, travelers use RTD’s A Line train to reach DEN in approximately 11 minutes.
Please check the Parking Lots page on Flydenver.com for real-time statuses of the operations and capacity of all our lots.
Do you need to park for longer than 30 days?
Please call (303) 342-4650. Vehicles left over 30 days are considered abandoned and will be removed from the lot.
If you want a guaranteed parking space
Premium Reserve Parking is designed for travelers who value certainty and convenience.
Located inside East and West Garages on level 4, Premium Reserve requires a reservation of 24 hours to 90 days in advance and includes a guaranteed parking space. It can be a helpful option for early morning departures, peak travel periods or travelers who simply prefer to plan every detail before arriving at the airport.
If you’re picking up a friend or family member
DEN’s Final Approach cell phone waiting lot is for those who don’t plan to enter the Jeppesen Terminal for a pickup. DEN’s cell phone waiting lot can be accessed via the 75th Avenue exit on Pena and by following signs to Final Approach where you can wait to receive the call from friends or family that are ready for pickup. For those who’d like to enter the Jeppesen Terminal to meet an arriving passenger, DEN’s hourly parking lots are the most convenient option, located on Level 4 of East Garage and West Garage. This lot will give you the closest access to the Jeppesen Terminal. The parking rate is $7 per hour.
Calculate the Total Cost Before You Park
DEN’s Parking Fee Estimator can help you calculate an estimate of the total cost of your entire stay depending on the lot you choose to park in. Travelers can plug in the anticipated entry date/time and the exit date/time to receive a list of prices comparing the total cost per lot.
By providing estimated costs upfront, the tool helps you make informed decisions, select the parking option that best fits your budget and avoid unexpected expenses once you return.
DEN Parking and Off-Airport Parking Facilities
In addition to airport-operated parking, several private parking providers operate near DEN.
These facilities typically offer their own pricing structures, reservation systems and transportation options to and from the airport.
When comparing airport-operated and off-airport parking, travelers may want to consider:
- Total cost
- Transportation time
- Shuttle frequency
- Reservation requirements
- Preferred pickup and drop-off experience
The right option depends on each traveler’s budget, schedule and personal preferences.
Important Things to Keep in Mind
You will receive a ticket upon entering the parking lot of your choosing. Pro tip: Leave your ticket in your car to reduce the likelihood of losing your ticket. The exception is if you’d like to pay using cash, which is only accepted at specific kiosks inside the terminal, as opposed to paying at the parking gate upon exiting. Cash payments for parking are only accepted at the kiosks on West Level 5, doors 504/506, and East Level 5, doors 507/509.
Lost tickets will result in being charged the daily maximum of the facility in which you parked and specific times of entry/exit will not be used to calculate your total.
