Denver International Airport Opens Día de Muertos Art Exhibition on A-Bridge

DENVER – Sept. 2, 2025 – Denver International Airport (DEN) is proud to be showcasing Calaveras en Mi Ciudad, a mobile art exhibition that celebrates and pays tribute to Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), a holiday and day of remembrance in Mexico. Calaveras en Mi Ciudad is on view now through Nov. 3, 2025 and is located on the A-Bridge and Concourse A west, near Gate A19.

The exhibition is a collaboration with Latino artists Anthony Garcia Sr., Armando Silva, Juls Mendoza, Karma Leigh, Xencs L. Wing, Charlo G. Walterbach, Bimmer Torres, Jennifer Gomez, and Spaik, all who hand-painted the calaveras. The original papier-mâché mold of the calaveras was created by artist Ricardo Soltero. Each calavera, which remind us that our spirits continue after death, is a personal statement that is unique to its creator. Calavera artists express a visual story of who they are, where they come from and how they place themselves within the ancestral tradition of Día de Muertos.

Denver-based artist Armando Silva will paint a calavera live at DEN on the A Concourse on September 29 at 12 p.m.
