Arriving in Denver from an International Destination

If you are arriving from another country and have not cleared U.S. Customs and Border Protection, your flight will arrive at the A Gates. When you disembark, follow signage to U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Jeppesen Terminal.

Departures and Connections at Denver International Airport

Departing on an International Flight

Planning Your International Flight from DEN

DEN offers nonstop international service to destinations across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. For a full list of nonstop international routes and the airlines that operate them visit the nonstop routes page.

Starting Your International Trip from DEN

All departing passengers begin their journey in Jeppesen Terminal where ticketing, check-in, baggage check and security screening are located. Airline counters are on both sides of the terminal: Terminal East and Terminal West. Once you have passed through security, you can take the automated train from the terminal to your departure gate.

When to Arrive at DEN for an International Flight

We recommend arriving at DEN three hours before your scheduled international departure. This is in line with TSA guidance and gives you time for check-in, baggage drop, security screening and travel to your gate.

Check-In and Travel Documents

  • Confirm passport, visa and entry document requirements with your airline and destination country before traveling
  • Many international airlines recommend in-person check-in at the airport. Check with your specific carrier.
  • Have your travel documents ready at the airline counter and at security screening

Security Screening

All departing international passengers are screened by TSA in Jeppesen Terminal before reaching their departure gate.

International Connections

Connecting to Another Flight at DEN

If you are connecting to another flight after arriving on an international flight, you will first clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Follow the steps below:

  1. Disembark at the A Gates and follow signage to U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Jeppesen Terminal
  2. Clear customs and immigration
  3. Recheck your baggage outside the U.S. Customs area. Airline personnel will direct you.
  4. Proceed to TSA security screening in Jeppesen Terminal
  5. Take the automated train to your connecting gate at the A, B or C Gates

All connecting passengers, including those moving from an international flight to a domestic flight, must clear TSA security screening before reaching their connecting gate. Baggage carts are available free of charge in the U.S. Customs area.
