Jackson Gap and 75th Ave. Detours
Starting Sept. 22, the existing off-ramp from inbound Peña to Jackson Gap will be closed for construction. While a temporary off-ramp is available, construction activity in the area will cause travel impacts. Also, westbound traffic on 75th from Jackson Gap is prohibited. Detour routes will be in place and signs will be posted.

DENVER – June 7, 2023 – Denver International Airport (DEN) celebrated the grand opening of Half Moon Empanadas’ first location outside of Florida. The Miami-based business has been serving artisanal empanadas since 2008.
“As we celebrate the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat competing in the NBA Finals, it makes today the perfect time to celebrate our win of Half Moon Empanadas joining the DEN team. We are proud to support a woman-owned small business and for Half Moon Empanada to grow in Colorado and expand DEN’s global flavor profile,” said DEN CEO, Phil Washington.
“We are humbled by the opportunity to come to Denver International Airport. We started our company in Miami in 2008 and like many immigrants, we came to this country with big dreams. Today, after 15 years of hard work, we are extremely proud to open our first store outside of Miami! We are bringing our empanadas to Denver and proudly representing the beauty of our Latin food and culture,” said Half Moon Empanada CEO Pilar Guzman.
Half Moon Empanada serves authentic Argentinian-based recipes, with a hint of Mexican flavors. The empanadas are free from additives or preservatives and using only the highest quality ingredients. Empanada flavors include their popular spicy beef, dulce de leche and so many more.
When ordering a delicious empanada, DEN travelers can enjoy a cup of coffee by Denver-based Huckleberry Roasters, owned by locals Koan Goedman and Jason Farrar.
“We commend the DEN leadership team for creating these opportunities for small, SBEC certified, businesses as we represent the best of America. We are eager to embrace Denver as our community and as part of our core value, we promote and support local businesses. This time we are excited to do so through our partnership with local coffee brewers Huck Coffee. With this new opening, we continue our mission to change the world, one empanada a time,” she said.
Half Moon Empanadas officially opened at DEN on May 23. Their kiosk is located on Concourse B near Gate B37 and open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
