DENVER – Oct. 19, 2016 – Denver International Airport (DEN) today announced that the Westin Denver International Airport hotel has earned three top awards from the travel, hospitality and engineering industries.
The Westin Denver International Airport includes 519 rooms, 35 luxury suites, a 37,500-square-foot conference center with 15 meeting rooms, two ballrooms and an 82,000-square-foot open-air plaza that connects the hotel with the airport’s iconic Jeppesen Terminal. The hotel opened in November 2015.
“The opening of the Westin Denver International Airport marked the completion of a vision for an on-airport hotel that began more than two decades ago,” airport CEO Kim Day said. “In less than a year of operation, this magnificent facility has exceeded expectations with enough guests to fill more than 600 Boeing 757 aircraft. We congratulate our partners at Westin for these prestigious industry awards.”
The prestigious awards include:

An ENR Mountain States panel of 12 judges selected the DEN Hotel and Transit Center project – which includes the Westin Denver International Airport, the outdoor plaza and a public transit center and rail station – as the “Best Project” in the airport/transit category. In its 16th year, panelists review projects from across the nine-state region, including Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. The award acknowledges the MHS (Mortenson, Hunt, Saunders) tri-venture and Gensler architects.
The Hotel and Transit Center is also eligible for the ENR Project of the Year award, a highly coveted industry award. The Project of the Year winner will be announced Oct. 27.
