DENVER, CO — May 17, 2013 — Motorists traveling from Denver International Airport (DIA) on Saturday, May 18 between 11:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday, May 19 should be alert for detours on outbound Peña Blvd. due to construction on the new East Rail Line. Crews with the Regional Transportation District’s contractor, Denver Transit Partners, will be setting girders on the new commuter rail bridge over Peña Boulevard near the DIA solar farm and employee parking lot. Drivers could encounter delays of up to 15 minutes.
A map of the detour routes is attached to this release.
Flaggers will be in place at all crossing locations to facilitate safe traffic flow through the detour areas. Drivers should follow all traffic control signs and allow additional time for travel. Because traffic is light during this time period, we expect only minimal delays.
This work is part of the construction of the East Rail Line between downtown Denver and DIA. The project is part of RTD’s FasTracks program.
Drivers are asked to slow down in construction zones and comply with posted signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other factors. In the event of after-hour emergencies, call 1855-EAGLE P3 (324-5373). For additional construction information, or if you have questions, please contact the DTP Public Information Team at 303-297-5284.
