DENVER, CO — March 8, 2013 — Denver International Airport (DIA), the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (Metro Denver EDC) and the Metro Denver Aviation Coalition (MDAC) will host the fifth-annual State of DIA luncheon Tuesday, March 12, at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom.
Kim Day, DIA’s Manager of Aviation, will address the airport’s 2012 successes, as well as the facility’s immediate future. The official program will be conducted during a luncheon.
Following an introduction by Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock, Day will highlight DIA’s record-breaking year of passenger traffic, in which more than 53 million passengers passed through the airport. Some of the topics will include new air service, continued work on the South Terminal Redevelopment Program, new concessions and other new amenities that will add to DIA’s reputation for providing one of the best traveling experiences in the world. Day will also address the strong financial future of the airport and new technology that will make flights to and from DIA more efficient and less noisy for our airport neighbors.
The presenting sponsor of the 2013 State of DIA luncheon is Mortensen/Hunt/Saunders Tri-Venture. Additional support is provided by the Metro Denver EDC and the Metro Denver Aviation Coalition.
