Two construction projects will impact traffic to and from Denver International Airport (DEN) this week.

Inbound Peña Blvd. lanes (heading to DEN) between Tower Rd. & the RTD bridge will be restored to their pre-existing, permanent alignment. A right inbound lane closure will be in effect from approximately 8 p.m. on May 28 to 4 a.m. on May 29. Additionally, crews will replace a damaged overhead electronic message board sign on May 28 and 29 on outbound Peña Blvd. (leaving DEN). Work is expected to start around 10 p.m. on May 28 and finish around 4 a.m. on May 29, and again around 10 p.m. on May 29 to 4 a.m. on May 30. At approximately 1 a.m., between Tower Road and E 56th Avenue, a slow rolling closure of Peña Boulevard traffic will be implemented for less than 10 minutes. Speeds will be significantly reduced. Crews will be transporting and setting bridge girders on E-470 over outbound Peña Blvd. (leaving DEN) between 11 p.m. on May 30 until 6 a.m. on May 31. Between Jackson Gap Street and E-470, approximately once every hour, slow, rolling closures of Peña will be implemented for approximately seven minutes. Speeds will be significantly reduced during this time.

Kicking-off the Evening with an Ugly Sweater Party

DENVER – Dec. 15, 2016 – The Griswalds are visiting Denver International Airport (DEN) on Dec. 16 with a free showing of the hilarious film “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” The film will begin at sunset on the airport’s plaza located between the Jeppesen Terminal and Westin Denver International Airport.

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” is the fourth movie to be shown as part of the airport’s “Film on the Fly” series, which is part of the ongoing Events at DEN. DEN is also hosting its first Ugly Sweater Party beginning at 4 p.m. on the plaza next to the free ice skating rink.

DEN is also giving away eight pairs of round-trip tickets on United Airlines. Visitors to the ice skating rink and other holiday activities will have the opportunity to enter to win, no purchase necessary. Seven lucky winners will take home two round-trip tickets good within the continental 48 United States, Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America, restrictions apply. One winner will take home tickets also good to Hawaii. The winners will be selected at random weekly and the contest ends Jan. 1, 2017. Only one entry per person will be accepted.   • Through Jan. 1, 2017: A free ice skating rink on the DEN Plaza through Jan. 1, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily. DEN is providing a true Colorado winter experience on ice with characters and carolers surprising the crowd as they spontaneously show-up and provide entertainment. There is familyfriendly music playing in the background. The ice skating rink has been made possible in partnership with United Airlines
  • Dec. 16 – 24, 2016 – Holiday Entertainment: A variety of holiday entertainment will be offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily in the Jeppesen Terminal. The entertainment will consist of local choirs, caroling groups, singer/songwriter musicians, pianists, brass band and dance groups will fill DEN’s Great Hall with the magic of the holiday season.

The plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is accessible just steps from the new University of Colorado A Line station at DEN (tickets are $9 and good for multiple trips during the same business day), or a short walk from the airport parking garages ($3/hour). The Jeppesen Terminal is located in the center of the Great Hall also located pre-security and open to the public.
