Jackson Gap and 75th Ave. Detours

The existing off-ramp from inbound Peña Blvd. to Jackson Gap is closed for construction. While a temporary off-ramp is available, construction activity in the area may cause travel impacts. Drivers on Jackson Gap will not be able to travel westbound on E 75th Ave. to the Pikes Peak shuttle lot. Detours are in place.

Roadways to Close Temporarily North and West of DEN

Closures Include: E 96th Avenue, W Cargo Road, N Quency Way, E 114th Avenue

 DENVER – October 1, 2024 – A collection of side roads that connect to form a travel corridor north and west of Denver International Airport (DEN) will be closed for just under a week in early October, impacting northeast and southwest travel between Tower Road and Queensburg Street (near the Denver Fire Department’s Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting training location). The closure is required to support a Denver Water pipeline installation project.

The closure of the following roadways, shown in red on the map below, will be in effect from 7 a.m. on Monday, October 7 through 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 12:

  • E 96th Avenue
  • W Cargo Road
  • N Quency Way
  • E 114th Avenue

Detour routes are shown in green on the map below.

Northwest Travel from Tower Road and E 96th Avenue

Travel north on Tower Road to E 120th Avenue. Then, travel east on 120th to southbound Trussville Street for access to various DEN partner operations including the fire training facility and airline maintenance centers.

Northwest Travel from E-470 and E 96th Avenue

Exit E-470 at E 96th Avenue and travel west on 96th to Tower Road (eastbound travel will be prohibited from E-470 on 96th). Travel north on Tower to E 120th Avenue. Then, travel east on 120th to southbound Trussville Street for access to various DEN partner operations including the fire training facility and airline maintenance centers.

Southwest Travel from Queensburg Street and E 114th Avenue (near fire training center)

Travel east on E 114th Avenue to Trussville Street. Travel north on Trussville to E 120th Avenue. Then, travel west on 120th to southbound Tower Road for access to the area of Tower Road and E 96th Avenue. Travel east on E 104th Avenue from Tower Road for access to E-470.

Drivers who might impacted by the closures include but are not limited to:

  • Airline employees and contractors who work at airline maintenance centers on the north edge of the airfield
  • DEN contractors who access Gate 4, the fuel farm, and Flatiron batch plant
  • DEN maintenance staff
  • Employees accessing the Denver Fire Department’s Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting training center
  • Local residential and business traffic in the vicinity of Southeast Commerce City
