DENVER – Oct. 16, 2019 – Denver International Airport (DEN) followed up its busiest month in history (July 2019) with continued passenger traffic records in August. DEN served more than 6.4 million people in August, up 8.1 percent over August 2018. It was DEN’s second-busiest month ever, was the 23rd consecutive month of record-breaking traffic and was the 47th month out of 48 months of record-breaking traffic in Denver. In the past four years, Sept. 2017 was the only month not to set a new traffic record.
August also saw an 11.4 percent increase in international passenger traffic. Much of the increase can be attributed to United Airlines’ new service this year to Frankfurt, Germany and large increases for Air Canada and Volaris.
In August, 58,838,406 pounds of cargo passed through DEN, up nearly 5 percent over August 2018.
