Two construction projects will impact traffic to and from Denver International Airport (DEN) this week.

Inbound Peña Blvd. lanes (heading to DEN) between Tower Rd. & the RTD bridge will be restored to their pre-existing, permanent alignment. A right inbound lane closure will be in effect from approximately 8 p.m. on May 28 to 4 a.m. on May 29. Additionally, crews will replace a damaged overhead electronic message board sign on May 28 and 29 on outbound Peña Blvd. (leaving DEN). Work is expected to start around 10 p.m. on May 28 and finish around 4 a.m. on May 29, and again around 10 p.m. on May 29 to 4 a.m. on May 30. At approximately 1 a.m., between Tower Road and E 56th Avenue, a slow rolling closure of Peña Boulevard traffic will be implemented for less than 10 minutes. Speeds will be significantly reduced. Crews will be transporting and setting bridge girders on E-470 over outbound Peña Blvd. (leaving DEN) between 11 p.m. on May 30 until 6 a.m. on May 31. Between Jackson Gap Street and E-470, approximately once every hour, slow, rolling closures of Peña will be implemented for approximately seven minutes. Speeds will be significantly reduced during this time.

DENVER – June 7, 2022 – Today, Denver International Airport (DEN) officially opened its new commuter
facility located below the new gates on the east side of Concourse C. The new facility was completed as part of
the airport’s Gate Expansion Program and replaces the commuter facility located on Concourse A.

The commuter facility is located on the ramp level below gates C66 and C67. The facility is home to Boutique
Air, Denver Air Connection and Southern Airways Express. All three commuter airlines provide service to small
communities across the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions giving passengers in these areas access to
larger air service networks at airports such as DEN.

“The new commuter facility is part of our overall plan to accommodate airlines growth while improving the
passenger experience,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “Our commuter passengers will have access to more
amenities including the outdoor patio, new restrooms, nursing rooms and pet relief areas that were
constructed as part of the new Concourse C gates.”

The new commuter facility consists of four gates for the three airlines as well as new comfortable seating with
charging stations. In the future, passengers will also have access to eight new shopping and dining options that
will open on the concourse level by 2023.

The new commuter facility is in addition to the 39 new gates added through the Gate Expansion Program,
increasing gate capacity by 30%. The C-East expansion that includes the commuter facility is the second of four
expansion areas to be completed with the remaining two areas on Concourses A-West and B-East opening this
fall.
