DENVER – June 8, 2016 – Denver International Airport (DEN) is proud to announce “Events at DEN,” an ongoing series of public events that will bring familyfriendly entertainment, activities, music, movies and more to the stunning new openair plaza that connects the iconic Jeppesen Terminal with the Westin Denver International Airport.
Events at DEN will feature offerings unique to an airport – such as open-air movies on the plaza – as well as events that connect visitors with major happenings in and around the Denver community, including local art and music. The summer event series will take place on DEN’s 82,000-square-foot open-air plaza, which offers stunning views of the terminal tents, major public art installations, the transit center facility, the Rocky Mountains and downtown Denver. The plaza connects the terminal to the hotel and is covered by a canopy, providing both covered and uncovered areas for activities. The plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is accessible just steps from the new University of Colorado A Line station at DEN, or a short walk from the airport parking garages ($3/hour).
“The plaza at Denver International Airport is the perfect venue to introduce millions of travelers each year to the Mile High City, and offers a taste of the amazing art, culture, music, food and events that we have to offer,” airport CEO Kim Day said. “Events at DEN will offer passengers and residents alike a truly unique location to experience entertainment and activities that tap into the things that make Denver and Colorado great. And, with the opening of the new commuter rail line, people can also quickly and easily access the plaza – transforming the airport into a destination in its own right. We invite the community to come experience the airport like never before.”
