CHECKPOINT ALERT: Bridge Security

Starting Dec. 9, 2024, TSA will no longer operate Bridge Security on a regular basis. A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall will remain open for arriving passengers and employees accessing the Airport Office Building. Departing travelers must use West Security Checkpoint or South Security Checkpoint.

TRAVEL UPDATE: Jackson Gap & 75th Ave. Detours

The existing off-ramp from inbound Peña Blvd. to Jackson Gap is closed for construction. While a temporary off-ramp is available, construction activity may cause travel impacts. Drivers on Jackson Gap will not be able to travel westbound on E 75th Ave. to the Pikes Peak shuttle lot. Detours are in place.

WAYFINDING: Changes to A-Bridge/ Ansbacher Hall

A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall will be closed for overnight construction activities from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights, through the opening of the East Checkpoint in Q3 2025. During closures, all travelers must use concourse trains to journey to and from the Terminal.

‘Events at DEN’ Kicks Off with Putt-Putt on the Plaza, Family Golf Activities

DENVER – June 10, 2016 – Denver International Airport (DEN) will kick off its new “Events at DEN” series of family-friendly activities and entertainment with a free nine-hole putt-putt course and other golf-themed attractions from June 16-26.

Putt-Putt on the Plaza will bring a custom, Denver-themed miniature golf course to the airport’s stunning 82,000-square-foot open-air plaza, which sits on the south end of the Jeppesen Terminal and connects the terminal to the Westin Denver International Airport and transit center. The course will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Participants simply provide an ID at the DEN Clubhouse in exchange for a putter, golf ball and scorecard. The event also highlights information about Colorado golf courses and upcoming 2016 summer golf tournaments.

A special day of events will be held June 16 when DEN kicks off Putt-Putt on the Plaza with a “19th Hole Reception,” featuring elevated golf experiences by local golf pros from GolfTec and Denver Golf Parks & Recreation, including mini lessons and special prizes for participants who earn a hole in one during a mini putt-putt tournament. This one-day event will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weather permitting) and will include a Par-3 simulator game, raffle prizes, a digital driving range and a special lounge area broadcasting the U.S. Open. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

About Events at DEN

Events at DEN is an ongoing series of public events that brings family-friendly entertainment, activities, music, movies and more to the plaza that connects the iconic Jeppesen Terminal with the Westin Denver International Airport. Events at DEN feature both unique offerings only found at the airport – such as open-air movies on the plaza – as well as events that connect visitors with major happenings in and around the Denver community, including local art and music. DEN’s 82,000-square-foot open-air plaza offers stunning views of the terminal tents, major public art installations, the transit center facility, the Rocky Mountains and downtown Denver. The plaza connects the terminal to the hotel is covered by a canopy, providing both covered and uncovered areas for activities. The plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is accessible just steps from the new University of Colorado A Line station at DEN, or a short walk from the airport parking garages ($3/hour).

Scheduled Events

  • June 30 – Film on the Fly – “Top Gun”: Flashback to the 1980s with live music from the “New Sensation” tribute band from 5-9 p.m., followed by a showing of classic aviator movie, “Top Gun,” starting around sunset. Food and drinks available for purchase.
  • July 21 – Spirit of Colorado: Celebrate the rich Western Colorado heritage with a day of music, stuntmen, gold mining for kids, an old West photo booth, 4-H demonstrations, tastings from local Colorado distilleries, a mechanical bull and more. This event will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Aug. 18 – Film on the Fly – “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”: Playing today’s pop favorites during live bike stunts to get you in the mood for E.T.’s classic bike ride. The evening will begin with bike stunt performers, a DJ, raffle prizes and more from 5-8:30 p.m., followed by the movie starting around sunset.
  • Aug. 20 – Wheels Up! Bike Celebration: A tribute to our bike-friendly culture with a display of Colorado-made cruisers, electric bikes and innovative bikes, along with a Wish for Wheels charity build-a-bike station for kids living in underprivileged communities. This event will also feature a bike skills course complete with loaner bikes, along with raffle prizes, bands and more. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sept. 1 – FISE World Sports Welcome Party: Help DEN welcome a worldwide action sports series that hosts over 250 of the top international amateur and professional athletes in freestyle BMX, flatland BMX, skateboarding and scooters. Denver is the first U.S. city to host this international tour over the Labor Day weekend. Enjoy music, parkour and BMX stunts, autograph signings by elite athletes and food available for purchase. This event will take place from 3-7 p.m.
