Short-term parking on Level 4 of both East and West Garages will be relocated from Sept. 16 - 18 for power washing. Any remaining vehicles in the area will be relocated to the surface lot adjacent to the southwest corner of East Garage and West Garage.

DENVER, CO — June 7, 2013— Denver International Airport (DEN) welcomed the United Express inaugural flight from Fort McMurray Airport (YMM) as it arrived from Canada this morning. The inaugural flight marks the first scheduled nonstop passenger service from Fort McMurray, the heart of the world’s largest single oil deposit, to the United States. The new daily service will connect Fort McMurray to Denver, Colorado and United’s global network.
Marcy Grossman, the Consul General of Canada, Teresa Woo-Paw, Associate Minister for the Parliament of Fort McMurray-Athabasca, Melissa Blake, Mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and Sheldon Schroeder, Board Chair for the Fort McMurray Airport Authority, joined Denver International Airport Manager Kim Day, and the Executive Director of the Denver Office of Economic Development Paul Washington at a press conference in Jeppesen Terminal to celebrate the inaugural flight. Passengers on the United Express inaugural inbound flight were treated to a celebratory water arch created by the Denver Fire Department as the plane arrived at the gate.
“Denver was selected as Fort McMurray’s first U.S. destination because of our unique geographical location in the center of the U.S. and robust network,” said Denver International Airport Manager of Aviation Kim Day. “Denver International Airport is vibrant, strong and growing, and we are very pleased to become Fort McMurray’s gateway to the world.”
SkyWest Airlines will operate the United Express scheduled service from YMM to DEN daily beginning June 7, 2013. Flights will leave YMM at 6 a.m. and arrive at DEN at 9 a.m. On the return flight, passengers leave DEN at 8:15 p.m. and arrive at YMM at 11:18 p.m.
“We’re proud to add a direct link between Denver and the great Canadian oilsands,” said Paul Washington, executive director of the Denver Office of Economic Development. “This is a boost for our energy industry, and we look forward to the additional travelers and business growth opportunities presented through this flight.”
The flights will operate with CRJ-700 aircraft with 66-seat capacity: six seats in United First Class, 28 seats in Economy Plus and 32 seats in economy.
“This flight connects YMM with the 5th busiest airport in the U.S. making it convenient and less costly for visitors to access Denver as well as other major cities in the US,” stated Scott Clements, CEO and President of Fort McMurray Airport Authority.
The connection to DEN provides travel opportunities to more than 180 destinations around the world.
“This is a milestone for both DIA and YMM and opens a major trade lane between Colorado and Alberta,” stated Sheldon Schroeder, Chair of the Board for the Fort McMurray Airport Authority.
