Flights to Two Cities in Eastern Utah will Begin in Early April

DENVER – Jan. 16, 2025 – Today Denver International Airport (DEN) announced new service by Contour Airlines to Moab, Utah (CNY) beginning April 1, 2025, and Vernal, Utah (VEL) beginning April 2, 2025. These will be Contour’s first-ever flights to Denver, and with the new service, Contour will become DEN’s 27th airline partner.

“We are excited to welcome Contour Airlines to our vibrant city,” said Denver Mayor Mike Johnston. “This new investment by Contour supports Denver’s ranking as a top destination for business and leisure travel and further connects Denverites with the larger Rocky Mountain region.”

Contour will operate 30-seat Embraer Regional Jet (ERJ) aircraft between Denver and both Moab and Vernal. Flights will utilize gates on Concourse C at DEN.

“We’re thrilled to open Denver as a new hub to support our Essential Air Service routes to Moab and Vernal,” said Ben Munson, Contour Airlines President. “Our new interline partnership with United offers passengers seamless connectivity to the rest of the United network and underscores our commitment to linking small communities to the national air transportation system.”

Both Moab and Vernal are currently unserved from Denver; flights to both cities were previously operated from DEN by SkyWest (under the United Express brand) but ended in January 2024. With the new flights, DEN will now provide nonstop service to 191 domestic destinations across 46 U.S. states, including four destinations in Utah.

“Every nonstop destination supports DEN’s Vision 100 strategic plan to provide connectivity for residents and visitors alike,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “Aligning with partners like Contour Airlines demonstrates our commitment to expanding services across the U.S., including rural and mid-size cities.”

Flights to Moab are scheduled to operate 7 days per week, departing DEN at 5:40 PM and arriving into Moab at 7:15 PM. Return flights will depart Moab at 2:50 PM and arrive DEN at 4:20 PM. Flights to Vernal are scheduled to operate 5 days per week, departing DEN at 4:00 PM and arriving into Vernal at 5:25 PM. Return flights will depart Vernal at 1:40 PM and arrive at DEN at 3:05 PM.
