DENVER – Nov. 9, 2020 – Denver International Airport (DEN) is currently upgrading to a new public parking system. After several months of construction, the system will be activated for the first time tomorrow, Nov. 10, in the West Garage. The new system includes hardware and software to better improve the parking experience for DEN passengers.
Beginning tomorrow, customers parking in the West Garage will experience the new parking system upon entering and exiting the garage. Due to the implementation of the new system, customers who parked in the West Garage prior to 9 p.m. on Nov. 7, should proceed to a “cashier” payment lane when exiting. The West Garaged closed to incoming vehicles at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 while the system was activated and will remain closed until 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Customers are directed to use the East Garage or West Economy lot instead.
Construction is currently underway to install the new hardware at all DEN parking entry and exit lanes. During this phase of the project when construction is complete, customers will notice a new interface when pulling a ticket to enter DEN’s parking lots and garages and paying to exit the lots. The new system will be in use at all DEN parking facilities (with the exception of the lot at 61st and Peña) by the end of 2021.
Contactless payment methods such as tap to pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay will be available immediately in the West Garage. In future phases of the project, the new system will allow DEN to implement an Express Park program along with an enhanced reservation process to improve the parking experience at DEN.
As a reminder, due to low passenger traffic volumes, DEN’s shuttle parking lots, valet parking and the East Economy lot are closed. Please check FlyDenver.com for the latest information about parking availability.
