TRAVEL ALERT: Jackson Gap and 75th Ave. Detours

The existing off-ramp from inbound Peña Blvd. to Jackson Gap is closed for construction. While a temporary off-ramp is available, construction activity in the area may cause travel impacts. Drivers on Jackson Gap will not be able to travel westbound on E 75th Ave. to the Pikes Peak shuttle lot. Detours are in place.

Denver International Airport to Begin Overnight Road Maintenance on Peña Boulevard

DENVER – July 6, 2018 – Starting Sunday, July 8, Denver International Airport (DEN) will begin roadwork along Peña Blvd., as part of the airport’s annual pavement rehabilitation program. The $4.2 million capital improvement project includes concrete repairs and replacement along approximately six miles of Peña Blvd., between Tower Road and Jeppesen Terminal, as well as bridge repairs on bridges between I-70 and Jackson Gap Road.

Construction will take place overnight, during off-peak hours, through October. During construction, motorists can expect various lane closures on both inbound and outbound Peña Blvd. Sundays through Thursdays. Work on inbound Peña Boulevard will take place from approximately 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. while work on outbound Peña Boulevard will take place from approximately 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The project will kick off this Sunday, July 8, with bridge joint maintenance on Peña Blvd. at East 40th and East 56th Avenues. Single lane closures will be in place.

Drivers traveling to and from the airport during scheduled work hours are encouraged to plan ahead and leave extra time to reach their destinations. Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph in construction zones and vehicle passing will not be allowed within the traffic control work areas. Drivers are encouraged to follow posted speed signs and respect work zones for the safety of everyone.
