DEN Named Overall Winner at the Annual Ceremony Celebrating Aviation Route Development
DENVER – Feb. 12, 2025 – Denver International Airport (DEN) was named the Overall Winner at the Routes Americas 2025 Awards on Tuesday. The award recognizes excellence in aviation route development. DEN was also honored for its success in the organization’s Over 20 Million Passengers category.
“DEN has experienced tremendous growth in recent years to become one of the world’s busiest airports and an integral piece of the national and global air traffic system,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. “I’m very proud of everyone at DEN who is working hard on a daily basis to share information about DEN’s success and to encourage even more growth and expansion in the years ahead.”
Aviation route development encompasses efforts to recruit new air carriers to Denver and work to support capacity and frequency expansion by incumbent carriers. DEN was recognized for welcoming four new airlines in 2024, including Aer Lingus to Dublin, Ireland and Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, Turkey. In addition, DEN proactively supported expansion by several domestic and international incumbent carriers through marketing campaigns, events and other targeted outreach activities.
