Denver International Airport Sees Slight Growth in Passenger Traffic Over Previous Year

Home

DENVER – Jan. 28, 2026 – Denver International Airport (DEN) set a record for passenger traffic for 2025, having served 82,427,962 passengers during the year, or a 0.1% increase over the 82,358,744 passengers served in 2024.

“Reaching another passenger traffic record reflects the fundamental resilience of air travel demand,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. “As we continue progressing toward serving 100 million annual passengers, DEN remains committed to expanding our infrastructure and enhancing global connectivity to support the future growth of Colorado’s economy.”

In addition to 2025 ranking as DEN’s busiest year ever, the airport’s passenger traffic recorded several notable milestones during the year, including:

  • All 12 months set new records for international passenger traffic.
  • Six months of the year set new records for total passenger traffic by month.
  • July, 2025 was DEN’s busiest month ever, and the first month ever to exceed eight million passengers.
  • Sunday, July 6, represented the busiest day through DEN’s TSA checkpoints with 97,507 passengers screened.

International passenger traffic growth outpaced overall passenger traffic growth during the year, recording an increase of 4.8% as compared to 2024. International passenger traffic volume totaled 4,867,484, an all-time record, and accounted for 5.9% of DEN’s total passenger traffic. DEN’s largest carrier, United Airlines, set an all-time passenger traffic record with more than 41.4 million passengers, a 6.3% increase over 2025.

Total cargo volume in 2025 exceeded 732 million tons, an increase of 0.1% over 2024. Cargo transported by all-cargo carriers increased by 0.9% for the year.

Preliminary worldwide passenger traffic statistics from Airports Council International (ACI) are available through November 2025. For the first 11 months of the year, DEN ranked as the fourth busiest airport in the U.S. and the 10th busiest airport in the world. Full-year rankings will be published by ACI this spring.
