DENVER – December 20, 2024 – Today, Denver International Airport (DEN) announced the opening of its first play area designed for kids, just in time for the Christmas travel season. The play area will feature structures for kids to climb on inside a dedicated space for them to run around safely away from the bustle of concourse foot and cart traffic.
“We are pleased to open this family-friendly play area for traveling passengers with children to enjoy. This is one more amenity we now offer to enhance the overall customer experience at DEN,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. “This play area will be a great place for children to burn off some extra energy before or after their flight.”
The play area, which has an outer space and alien theme, a subtle play on DEN’s infamous conspiracy theories, is located on Concourse C, near gate C48. DEN expects to add other play areas into other concourses in the future.
Denver International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. DEN is the primary economic engine for the state of Colorado, generating more than $36 billion for the region annually.
