DENVER – March 18, 2024 – Denver International Airport (DEN) is now showcasing a collection of watercolor prints of all 53 of Colorado’s 14er peaks by local artist Mike Wilson, in collaboration with Cottonwood Institute.

Cottonwood Institute is a non-profit organization that collaborates with schools to remove obstacles that prevent middle and high school-aged kids from experiencing nature. Their programs are designed to connect students with the environment and motivate them to protect it. Wilson generously donated his 14er series to help Cottonwood Institute raise funds for their programs.

Wilson encourages everyone to enjoy the peaks in their own way, saying, “Not everyone has to summit a 14er or ‘bag a peak.’ Some folks enjoy these mountains from a distance, while others, like me, love to paint them. Enjoy these peaks in whatever way feels comfortable, but please protect them!”

While traveling through DEN this spring and summer, passengers can find all 53 watercolor paintings reprinted on canvas on Concourse A, adjacent to the Bridge walkway.

The 14ers exhibitions, in collaboration Cottonwood Institute, will be on view through mid-September. To learn more about Cottonwood Institute click here.
