DENVER – Feb. 24, 2023 – Today, Denver International Airport (DEN) celebrated new nonstop flights to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ) on Frontier Airlines. Service to this previously unserved destination will operate seasonally three times per week.

“Montego Bay, Jamaica has a strong demand from Denver residents and this new route will open new opportunities for our city,” said Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. “Frontier Airlines will provide an affordable and convenient option to get to and from our community and this popular tropical destination.”

Prior to the inauguration of this new service, Montego Bay ranked as Denver’s largest unserved international market in the Caribbean. In 2019, nearly 900 passengers per week traveled between Denver and Montego Bay. Demand between Denver and Montego Bay in 2022 surpassed 2019 levels by one percent, positioning Montego Bay as one of a small number of international markets to show a full recovery as compared to preCOVID volume.

“Expanding our global connections is a key pillar of our Vision 100 plan,” said DEN CEO Phillip A. Washington. “This brand-new, international destination for DEN not only enhances the value we bring to our customers, it also brings us one step closer to our Vision 100 goals and provides another amazing beach destination for Colorado travelers.”

Denver ranked as the second-largest unserved U.S. market without service to Montego Bay, behind only Los Angeles. With this service to Jamaica, DEN will be connected nonstop with 26 international destinations in 14 countries.

“As Denver’s hometown airline, we are proud to be celebrating a milestone as the only airline to connect the Mile High City with nonstop service to Jamaica,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “With an extensive operation at DEN— that’s only growing larger— now is the perfect time to take advantage of convenient and affordable travel options thanks to Frontier’s ‘Low Fares Done Right.’ Stunning Jamaican beaches are easier to reach than ever before with our new exclusive nonstop service to the island.”

At a stage length of 2,170 miles, Montego Bay will be Frontier’s longest flight from Denver. The elapsed flight time is scheduled for approximately five hours and 20 minutes.
