Daily Flights on United to the Provincial Capital City Began May 15
DENVER – May 16, 2025 – Denver International Airport (DEN) recently celebrated new nonstop service to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada (YQR) on United Airlines. Daily flights onboard a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ-200) are scheduled to operate year-round.
“We’re pleased to see United’s commitment to international expansion in 2025 and the enhanced global connectivity it provides to DEN – particularly with our Canadian neighbors,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. “DEN’s international traffic growth outpaced overall passenger traffic growth in 2024, and with even more destinations now in service, we look forward to continued momentum as we work toward serving 100 million passengers.”
Canada ranks as Denver’s second largest international market. Demand for travel between Denver and Canada totaled more than 425,000 passengers in 2024, accounting for 10% of Denver’s total international travel demand. An economic impact analysis conducted by DEN shows the economic impact of United’s Denver-Regina flights to Colorado’s economy is estimated to be more than $11 million annually, including the creation of nearly 70 new jobs and generating close to $5 million in incremental wages.
With the addition of Regina, DEN will offer nonstop service to seven destinations across six provinces in Canada. In total, DEN’s international network encompasses 35 nonstop destinations across 19 countries.
“I’m thrilled to see the establishment of this direct flight between Denver and Regina, expanding the links between Denver and cities across Canada,” Consul General of Canada in Denver Sylvain Fabi said. “Coloradans and Saskatchewanians have a lot in common and this new service will connect residents and visitors of these beautiful regions through tourism, trade and cultural exchange.”
Denver International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. DEN is the primary economic engine for the state of Colorado, generating more than $47.2 billion for the region annually.
