TRAFFIC ALERT: Overnight lane closures will take place June 14-18 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on inbound Peña from E470 to Jackson Gap and outbound 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Lane closures will also take place on outbound Peña (leaving DEN) near the West Terminal from June 15-19, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. DENVER – Aug. 10, 2016 – On Aug. 14, Denver International Airport (DEN) will begin concrete repairs and replacement on 10 miles of Peña Boulevard between E-470 and the Jeppesen Terminal. The work is part of DEN’s annual pavement rehabilitation program, which replaces deteriorating concrete.
Throughout the project, motorists can expect single or double lane closures on both inbound and outbound Peña Boulevard overnight, Sundays through Thursdays. Work on inbound Peña Boulevard will take place from approximately 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. while work on outbound Peña Boulevard will take place from approximately 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph in construction zones and vehicle passing will not be allowed within the work areas. Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time to reach the airport during the work hours.
The $3.3 million project is scheduled to be completed by late fall 2016.
