New Passenger Amenity “Red Eye” Ferris Wheel to Open in 2025

Picture of the new Ferris Wheel at DEN.

DENVER – April 1, 2023 – Denver International Airport (DEN) has just about everything a traveler could want, with the exception of a Ferris wheel, until now. By mid-2025, DEN will become the first airport in the world with an onsite Ferris wheel! The Red Eye was named after late-night flights and our favorite blue Mustang’s glowing neon eyes.

DEN prides itself on bringing travelers innovative experiences. Some of the best global cities have notable attractions such as this, and DEN expects The Red Eye Ferris wheel to become a traveler favorite in no time.

The Red Eye will be built in a convenient location on airport property. The former toll plaza on Peña Boulevard has been unoccupied for more than 20 years. After looking into numerous ways to utilize the space, a plan to install a Ferris Wheel was born. Following demolition of the toll plaza which will occur over the next six months, The Red Eye will take about a year and a half to construct and is anticipated to open in spring of 2025.

Riders can plane spot and view the terminal tent peaks and city lights from the top of the 250-ft tall Red Eye. Attendees can also enjoy local food trucks, vendors and music daily. An event calendar will be shared as we get closer to the opening. The Red Eye will operate annually from the beginning of May through the end of November.

Due to limited parking, there will be a reservation system and shuttle from the Pikes Peak lot to the toll plaza. Those with a Colorado ID will pay $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 3-12. Non-residents will pay $35 for adults and $10 for children ages 3-12. Children two and under will always ride free. Military and senior citizens will pay a reduced rate of $15 per ticket.
