DENVER – July 2, 2019 – The annual Airport Food and Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards were announced in Dallas last week. Denver International Airport (DEN) concessionaire, Mission Yogurt, earned the top title of Airport Health-Centered or Vegan Offer of the Year, for their restaurant Root Down at DEN. In addition, DEN Concessionaire Delaware North took home the regional title for Airport Food Hall of the Year, for their restaurant at DEN, Denver Central Market. Both concepts are local and boast a committed fan base. The concessions’ stiff competition included airports worldwide.
FAB is owned and organized by The Moodie Davitt Report with sister title The Foodie Report. The only industry event dedicated solely to the airport food and beverage sector. FAB recognizes operators that address the needs of hungry and thirsty passengers throughout airports worldwide.
“Colorado has played a pivotal role in the way people look at health food,” said DEN Deputy Chief of Staff Penny May. “We are extraordinarily proud that our ACDBE partner, Mission Yogurt, has received this well-deserved award for the popular, delicious health-focused restaurant they brought to DEN, Root Down. We are also excited that our partner Delaware North earned the regional award for best food hall of the year, Denver Central Market!”
Root Down can be found on Concourse C. The restaurant offers globally influenced cuisine that features vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and uses locally-farmed, sustainable and organic ingredients. Denver Central Market features an assortment of dining experiences – from sushi to pizza – all in one place. They are located on Concourse A, near Gate A48.
Health, sustainability and a variety of options are important factors that go into DEN’s concessions. With more than 140 concessions, DEN is eager to continue to surprise and delight passengers by adding more local, sure-to-please restaurants throughout the airport.
