DENVER – June 22, 2023 – Denver International Airport (DEN) is gearing up for another year of Business Development Training Academy (BDTA) and is seeking certified small businesses to participate in the Concourse 100 (entry level) program in its next series, which will run from Aug. 9 – Oct. 5.
In 2022, the academy’s inaugural series took off by helping to create a pipeline for certified small businesses to learn about opportunities and ultimately graduate from the City’s Division of Small Business Opportunity’s (DSBO) certified program. As a result of the training series, 27 businesses completed the program, two of which have earned contracts with DEN (American Automation and Peak Consulting).
“The Business Development Training Academy provides small businesses a systematic approach to working with DEN,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “The goal is to provide ample training, growth, education and as many opportunities as possible for the small business community to thrive and build generational wealth.”
With additional sessions, DEN hopes to increase the pool of certified firms ready and able to succeed during the bid process and while partnering with DEN. The nine-week series will support small businesses during their business lifecycle at DEN by providing trainings at all transitional points of the business.
Applicants must be able to commit to the full nine-week program; be a certified small firm in good standing with the City and County of Denver; have no experience at DEN or newly attained a project at DEN; be within the A/E/C Industry, including design, engineering, construction, professional services, and goods and services.
