DENVER – July 16, 2020 – As part of the ongoing Great Hall Project, a 42-foot long crane will be installed on the west side of Level 6 (passenger drop-off) starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, July 17. The crane will allow crews to install steel to construct the exterior expansion which includes new restrooms and future space for escalators. Similar work is underway on the east side of the terminal.
During the set-up on July 17, three lanes of traffic will be closed between Doors 606 – 610 on the west side. There will also be no access to the sidewalk or curbside drop-off at these doors. Once the crane is installed, the sidewalk, curbside check-in, drop-off lane and the first full lane of traffic between Doors 606 and 610 on the west side will remain closed for the safety of passengers while the crane is operational.
Pedestrians trying to reach the north or south end of the terminal will be directed inside, down to Level 5, through baggage claim and back up to Level 6. Traffic can navigate around the closure by dropping off before or after the construction closure.
