‘Colorado Music’ Gets You Grooving at Denver International Airport

Home

DENVER – Aug. 3, 2017 – Denver International Airport’s (DEN) latest exhibit will have travelers tapping their toes to music as they pass through the exhibit in Ansbacher Hall located on Level 6 of the Jeppesen Terminal, approaching A Bridge Security. “Colorado Music” celebrates the sights and sounds of important Colorado rooted musicians and industry leaders who’ve made significant impacts to the national and international music scenes.

In partnership with the Colorado Music Hall of Fame and presented by Comfort Dental and the John Denver Estate, “Colorado Music” provides a unique opportunity to see rare and significant objects from music legends including John Denver, Glenn Miller, Joe Walsh, Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Chris Daniels. Instruments, records, sheet music, handwritten lyrics, photography, costumes and other extraordinary displays help illustrate and personalize the pathways to sweet musical success for the roughly 25 featured musicians and music legends.

About the participating exhibitors:

The Colorado Music Hall of Fame presented by Comfort Dental, located at the Trading Post at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, was created to educate the public regarding everything that’s great about our state’s music. With a current inductee list of twenty-two, the hall honors the artists and individuals who have defined Colorado’s amazing and diverse musical legacy.

John Denver was one of the world’s best-known and loved performers. He earned international acclaim as a songwriter, performer, actor, environmentalist and humanitarian. Denver’s career spanned four decades and his music has outlasted countless musical trends and garnered numerous awards and honors.

“Colorado Music” will be here through mid-October so be sure to check it out the next time you are traveling through DEN. You can also view photos of the “Colorado Music”: exhibition here.

About DEN’s Art and Culture Program

DEN’s Art and Culture Program administers the City and County of Denver’s “one percent for art” ordinance which enhances public places and features nearly 40 site-specific works including sculptures, murals and other installations. The pieces are displayed in outdoor landscapes, inside Jeppesen Terminal and on airport concourses, as well as in the train tunnels and on the train itself. In addition to its permanent art collection, DEN curates temporary exhibitions, collaborating with museums, cultural institutions and arts organizations to present the highest quality two- and threedimensional work.
