DENVER — Nov. 19, 2015 — Air Canada today announced that it will begin daily nonstop service between Denver International Airport (DIA) and Montreal, Quebec, Canada, beginning June 4, 2016.
“Montreal was a key market missing from our air service network,” said Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. “Nonstop connectivity is a critical component of our efforts to elevate Denver’s profile globally, and Air Canada’s flights will serve to further boost our international growth.”
With nearly 35,000 annual passengers traveling between the two cities, Montreal ranked as Denver’s largest Canadian market without nonstop service, and Denver’s second-largest international market without nonstop service, behind only Paris, France.
“We are delighted that Air Canada is adding service between Denver and Montreal,” said Denver International Airport CEO Kim Day. “This addition not only builds upon the strong 20-year relationship between Denver and Air Canada but deepens our partnership through an enhanced investment in our market.”
Air Canada ranks as Denver’s longest tenured foreign-flag carrier and celebrated 20 years of service in the market in October 2015. Air Canada currently provides twice daily flights between Toronto and Denver.
“Air Canada is pleased to extend service to Denver from Montreal. Canadians visit the U.S. more than any other country and Air Canada’s extensive transborder network makes it the foreign carrier with the most flights to the U.S. Air Canada also offers convenient onward connections through our expansive global network to destinations around the world on North America’s only Four-Star, international network carrier,” said Lisa Pierce, Senior Director, U.S. Sales and Market Development at Air Canada.
Beginning June 4, 2016, Air Canada’s Montreal flight will depart Montreal at 3:30 p.m. and arrive in Denver at 5:35 p.m. daily. It will depart Denver at 6:10 p.m. and arrive in Montreal at 11:42 p.m. daily (all local times).
With the addition of the nonstop flight to Montreal, Quebec and the recently announced nonstop flight to Munich, Germany, DIA will serve 21 international destinations in nine countries.
