$47.2K per year is the base salary for mechanic at JSM & Associates, Llc in Denver, CO.
JSM Airport Services, LLC (a subsidiary of JSM & Associates, LLC) a growing company headquartered in Central Florida, is seeking qualified individuals to join our team in Denver! This position will have varied responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the maintenance of the airport Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) at the Denver International Airport.
Entry Support Mechanic (ESM) – BHS:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and work under the direct supervision of a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic (MMM) or Control Systems Technician (CST) while reporting to a Shift Supervisor to perform the following:• The Entry Support Mechanic (ESM) applies basic mechanical knowledge to perform maintenance and operational tasks on a conveyance system.• The ESM performs cleaning, routine inspections, preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance based on an established maintenance program.• The ESM clears jams and faults and may physically move items during failures.• Learn, under direct supervision, to be able to troubleshoot, repair, replace, and rebuild all the mechanical components in the BHS to include, but not limited to, the following:o Belt Trackingo Belt Tensiono Sheaveso Gearbox and Bearing Lubricationo Motorso Rollerso Clutcheso Brakeso Hydraulic Systemso Transporting Telecarso Bearingso Conveyor Beltingo Drive Beltso Drive Shaftso Pulleys• Learn, under direct supervision, to inspect all BHS equipment for proper operation and performance, including but not limited to, conveyors, lifts, diverters and automatic tag readers• Learn, under direct supervision, to install, inspect, assess, maintain, repair and/or refurbish of all mechanical parts, components and/or assemblies within the BHS• Collateral duties as requiredQualifications:• High School diploma or equivalent• Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical work experience• Capable of working without direct supervision for more than fifty (50%) of the time• Capable of completing a task with minimal supervision after proper training• Fully proficient with, and capable of operating, mechanical hand toolsPhysical requirements:
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time• Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, or crawl on a frequent basis• Ability to frequently lift/move items that may range in weight up ti 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds• Ability to withstand exposure to hot, cold, wet, or other weather related conditionsThis non-exempt position will be located on-site, at the Denver International Airport. Our team works various schedules as this is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation. The schedule for this position is currently slated to be Wednesday to Saturday. Wednesday is a 6 hour shift (plus a 30-minute lunch), with the other three days an 11:20 hour shift (plus a 1 hour lunch), and will be a night shift (Wednesday from 9:30 pm to 4:00 am and Thursday to Saturday from 3:40 pm to 4:00 am) – shift assignments are determined based on the requirements of the airport and the company, together with a mechanic’s strengths, skill set, and experience. Our mechanics/technicians are expected to be flexible with regards to potential changes in shift assignments. All shift assignments include working on holidays that fall on scheduled work days. 10% Shift Differential for regularly scheduled hours worked between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am, when applicable.
This successful candidate is subject to a Ten (10) year Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for airport security clearance and must possess a valid drivers’ license (with a clean driving record).
