The Airport Division of the Denver Fire Department provides critical fire protection, emergency response, and specialized rescue services to one of the nation’s busiest airports. As part of a transformational and multi-faceted team, all members operate in a dynamic environment focused on innovation, safety, and operational excellence in support of the Denver Fire Department and Denver International Airport.
Responsibilities and duties of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the financial operations of DEN Fire, including preparing and managing budgets for current and future needs, processing purchase orders, quotes, invoices and P-Card/TCard transactions, and reconciling accounts.
Track expenses and monitors spending in collaborations with Airport finance teams to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with operational priorities.
Maintain ARFF Training records to ensure FAA compliance and successful annual Part 139 inspection and daily operations.
Coordinate internal and external training programs, including scheduling, tracking, analytics, and stakeholder communication.
Serve as a liaison for ARFF Training Academy, maintain DEN ARFF Training web page and respond to external inquiries.
Become familiar with and educated with policies and procedures where applicable of the FAA, City and County of Denver, Denver International Airport and the City and County of Denver.
Provide support to DEN Fire leadership for capital improvement, preventative maintenance, on infrastructure assessments.
Provide high-level administrative and operational support to DEN Fire leadership, including preparing reports, presentations, managing calendars, assisting with travel coordination and daily requests.
This role may evolve over time and can include additional duties or support for other portfolios within Airport Operations.
The duties listed above are not intended to be exhaustive; additional responsibilities may be assigned and are considered part of the role.
This position is based on site at either the Firehouse (Station 35, 25365 E. 75th Avenue) or the ARFF Training Facility. Candidates may work between both locations throughout the week. Employee parking will be provided.

Experience in administrative support, budget coordination, or program management.
Experience with budgeting, financial tracking, forecasting, and cost analysis.
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Word) and financial systems (e.g. Workday, databases, training systems).
Knowledge of Vector Solutions (DFD’s learning management system) is preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and generate meaningful reports.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and deadlines with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Effectively collaborate and adapt to dynamics of arising demands.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with leadership and external stakeholders.
Ability to learn new functions within position and cross train within areas of work environment.

Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience coordinating business operations or operational programs and/or assisting professional/management staff with administrative or operational functions.
Education and Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certification Requirement: requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges arise, weather conditions warrant, or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
