Denver International Airport and Southwest Airlines Introduce Dedicated TSA PreCheck Touchless ID Self-bag Drop Option for Passengers

Home

DENVER – April 14, 2026 – DEN and Southwest Airlines today announced a new TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID Bag Drop option for Southwest passengers flying out of DEN.

“We are pleased to be rolling out this new option for Southwest Airlines passengers who have TSA PreCheck® so they can enjoy a more efficient and convenient bag drop experience,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “We thank Southwest Airlines and TSA for their partnership and their commitment to improving the travel experience while maintaining the highest levels of safety and security.”

DEN introduced two new dedicated TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID lanes at both the West and East Security Checkpoints in August of last year. These limited-access lanes feature facial comparison technology for faster, more efficient identity verification.

“We are always looking for opportunities to make travel more seamless for our Customers,” said Lisa Hingson, Vice President Customer Experience and Innovation at Southwest Airlines. “We are excited to offer this new perk that continues building on our successful rollout of TSA Touchless ID at Denver.”

Passengers interested in utilizing TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID when traveling with Southwest Airlines® must:

  • Be a current TSA PreCheck® traveler
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have valid passport information uploaded to your Southwest profile
  • Have opted in to the program and provided all relevant information in the Southwest app
  • Be a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Member

The TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID indicator must appear on a passenger’s mobile boarding pass to enter the dedicated TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID Bag Drop area. Once at the ticket counter, passengers will print their bag tags at dedicated kiosks, then proceed to the self-bag drop units to drop their bag and verify their identity using TSA Precheck Touchless ID. The TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID Bag Drop is located at the Southwest Airlines ticket counter, located on level 6 of the Jeppesen Terminal near doors 605 & 607.
