DEN Level 5 Crosswalk Construction Project
Impact Updates
Denver International Airport (DEN) is working to improve pedestrian safety and overall customer experience at Terminal West and East, Level 5 (Commercial Ground Transportation drop-off/ pick-up). The improvements support overall safety by creating more noticeable crosswalks that also serve as roadway humps to slow vehicle traffic. Below are real time impact updates. The entire project (for both sides of the Terminal) is expected to last until just prior to Labor Day weekend of 2026.
UPDATE – May 4, 2026
Islands 1 and 2 West are closed. Those using limousine, taxi and Epic Mountain Express transportation must access these services on Level 5 of Terminal East.
UPDATE – April 24, 2026
Island 3 West is closed. Those using shuttles for travel from the Terminal to select hotels and off-airport parking must access these shuttles on Level 5 of Terminal East.
UPDATE – March 27, 2026:
There will be a partial closure of the Short-Term Parking area on Level 4 of Terminal West starting March 29 for about eight weeks. This closure will help facilitate Level 5 crosswalk re-construction.
UPDATE – March 26, 2026:
From March 29, 2026, until approximately April 28, 2026, those using rental car shuttles for travel from the Terminal to rental car facilities must access these shuttles on Level 5 of Terminal East. Rental car shuttle service will not be available on Level 5 of Terminal West during this time due to construction. More information on the construction project.
