Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
What You’ll Do
Denver International Airport (DEN) is the third-busiest airport in the United States and one of the top ten busiest airports in the world, connecting our community globally through flight and business. DEN is the primary economic engine for the state of Colorado, generating more than $36.4 billion for the region annually and employing nearly 37,000 people. At DEN, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace. We celebrate individuality and uplift all races, ethnicities, gender identities, national origins, ages, abilities, religion, and LGBTQIA+ communities. We know that our diversity makes us stronger, and we strive to keep diversity, equity and inclusion at the center of all that we do.
Design, Engineering, and Construction (DEC) Division is DEN's primary delivery arm for design and construction projects. The Facility group within the DEC Division manages over $325 million worth of design and construction projects of the airport’s-built environment, including new and existing roadways, runways, taxiways, utilities, and drainage focusing on sustainability, total cost of ownership, and excellence in design. We are approaching these facility projects with a renewed focus on constructing and rehabilitating facility infrastructure and systems to ensure operational continuity, reliability, optimization, and efficiency.
The DEC team is looking for an interdisciplinary program manager who brings a depth and breadth of technical proficiency; critical problem solving, communication and facilitation; financial acumen; stewardship; and an ability to invest in the success of the DEN DEC Division facility projects throughout their project lifecycles. This project manager will oversee various facility projects tied to the Airline Tenants and Commercial Business at DEN.
As a Tenant Development Program Manager I, you will facilitate and coordinate the design and construction oversight of tenant spaces and projects within leased spaces and commercial properties. You will work closely with tenants, architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure tenant-driven design and construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Liaise with the airport engineering authority, the City and County of Denver, and DEN’s tenants and business partners.
This position's knowledge, growth, and integration with DEN stakeholders are instrumental to the long-term resiliency of tenant projects and DEN design and construction programs. This position must consult with tenant stakeholders to determine and establish project plans and goals, formulate and define the scope of work and objectives, and develop project work plans. These may include schedules, costs to DEN, project risk factors, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the projects. This position will report to the Senior Tenant Development Program Manager within the DEC Division.
Key responsibilities will include:
Act as the primary point of contact for tenants and business partners to interface with the Airport Design, Engineering, and Construction Division during the design and construction process.
Review tenant design plans and specifications to ensure compliance with DEN design standards, building codes, and other regulations.
Coordinate and schedule design and construction activities with tenants, architects, engineers, and construction teams. Monitor design and construction progress and identify and address any issues that may arise; Ensure that all design and construction work is performed safely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all tenant design and construction activities.
Provide regular updates to DEN stakeholders on tenant design and construction project status.
Review and approve requested shutdowns for tenant project work. Coordinate with DEN stakeholders and monitor shutdown activity.
Conduct post-construction inspections and ensure that all work is completed to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with tenants, DEN Airline Affairs, DEN Commercial Business, architects, engineers, and construction teams to facilitate smooth and successful tenant design and construction projects.
This position may also provide more traditional project management for airport-driven design and construction projects over time. Performs other duties as assigned, supporting Design, Engineering, and Construction Division Projects.
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, airport planning, or a related field
At least 2 years of experience in design and construction project management or a similar role
Knowledge of building codes and other tenant design and construction regulations
Strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with tenants, stakeholders, architects, engineers, and construction teams
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and construction management software
Experience in the engineering and construction management field; Experience analyzing and maintaining project schedules and managing design and construction contract agreements
