CHECKPOINT ALERT: Bridge Security

Starting Dec. 9, 2024, TSA will no longer operate Bridge Security on a regular basis. A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall will remain open for arriving passengers and employees accessing the Airport Office Building. Departing travelers must use West Security Checkpoint or South Security Checkpoint.

TRAVEL UPDATE: Jackson Gap & 75th Ave. Detours

The existing off-ramp from inbound Peña Blvd. to Jackson Gap is closed for construction. While a temporary off-ramp is available, construction activity may cause travel impacts. Drivers on Jackson Gap will not be able to travel westbound on E 75th Ave. to the Pikes Peak shuttle lot. Detours are in place.

WAYFINDING: Changes to A-Bridge/ Ansbacher Hall

A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall will be closed for overnight construction activities from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights, through the opening of the East Checkpoint in Q3 2025. During closures, all travelers must use concourse trains to journey to and from the Terminal.

The Denver International Airport Maintenance departments is looking for experienced journeyman Electrician I’s.

This posting encompasses open positions within the Life Safety, Power Management, Facilities Electric and PLB departments which includes maintenance and repair of UPSs, Switchgear, Lighting, passenger loading bridges and ground service equipment.

Location and Schedule

  • On site at Denver International Airport (parking is provided)  
  • Shifts: Day Shift: 5:30AM to 4:00PM or 6:00AM to 4:30PM, Swing Shift: 4:00PM to 2:30AM, Graveyard Shifts: 7:30PM to 6:00AM.
  • Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change
  • Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Participates in mandatory snow removal duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs electrical/construction maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures following standard practices of the electrical trade
  • Responds to electrical service or trouble calls, troubleshoots various problems/issues, and provide problem resolution
  • Prepares working sketches and works from blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions
  • Estimates materials, labor, and equipment costs
  • Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports
  • Assists in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of skilled trades areas
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

We are looking for candidates with some or all the following experience:

  • Customer Service and Communication skills, both written and oral
  • Technical Competence and Technical Problem Solving – Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies systems malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and practices, and equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce motion, light, power, technology, and other applications
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for operating industrial equipment as well as materials, processes, and the appropriate tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings
  • Experience in developing, producing, understanding, and using plans, blueprints, models, and maps, including the use of instruments to produce precision technical drawings
  • Experience with dual-fed switchgear and PLCS.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, including installation, testing, uses, repair, and maintenance

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate
  • Experience: One (1) year of journey-level electrician experience maintaining, repairing, and constructing electrical systems and equipment
  • Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application
  • Requires a Journey Electrician's License issued by the State of Colorado or state-issued equivalent at the time of application
  • Licensure in another state with reciprocity may be accepted in place of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado licensure at the completion of probation. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
  • Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
