Starting Dec. 9, 2024, TSA will no longer operate Bridge Security on a regular basis. A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall will remain open for arriving passengers and employees accessing the Airport Office Building. Departing travelers must use West Security Checkpoint or South Security Checkpoint.

TRAVEL UPDATE: Jackson Gap & 75th Ave. Detours

The existing off-ramp from inbound Peña Blvd. to Jackson Gap is closed for construction. While a temporary off-ramp is available, construction activity may cause travel impacts. Drivers on Jackson Gap will not be able to travel westbound on E 75th Ave. to the Pikes Peak shuttle lot. Detours are in place.

WAYFINDING: Changes to A-Bridge/ Ansbacher Hall

A-Bridge and Ansbacher Hall will be closed for overnight construction activities from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights, through the opening of the East Checkpoint in Q3 2025. During closures, all travelers must use concourse trains to journey to and from the Terminal.

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.   

In this position you can expect to work on site at least 3 days per week at the Denver International Airport.

What You’ll Do 

This Senior Director will report to the Senior Vice President of Design, Engineering and Construction (DEC), and act as a deputy to accomplish DEC’s and the airport’s mission and vision.  DEC is the primary Capital Project delivery arm for design and construction projects at DEN. DEC manages design and construction projects valued to be in the hundreds of millions annually. Work includes concourse and airport facility renovations and expansions, building new and rehabilitating existing runways, taxiways and roadways, among other projects. All work is performed focusing on sustainability, total-cost of ownership, and excellence in project delivery. The DEC team is looking for a Senior Director who will bring a depth and breadth of technical proficiency; strong leadership, critical problem solving, communication and facilitation; financial acumen; stewardship; and an ability to invest in the success of the Airport.

  • Previous leadership or management experience with a significant workforce responsible for delivering large quantities of projects annually

Required Minimum Qualifications 

  • Education:   Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of experience managing licensed engineers or architects.
  • Education and Equivalency:  No substitution of experience for education is permitted.  Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements.
  • Licensure & Certification:  Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.  Requires registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Colorado State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers at the time of application. Or requires registration as an Architect by the Colorado State Board of Registration at the time of application.   Registration in another state will be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado registration at completion of probation.  Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees may be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
