Two construction projects will impact traffic to and from Denver International Airport (DEN) this week.

Inbound Peña Blvd. lanes (heading to DEN) between Tower Rd. & the RTD bridge will be restored to their pre-existing, permanent alignment. A right inbound lane closure will be in effect from approximately 8 p.m. on May 28 to 4 a.m. on May 29. Additionally, crews will replace a damaged overhead electronic message board sign on May 28 and 29 on outbound Peña Blvd. (leaving DEN). Work is expected to start around 10 p.m. on May 28 and finish around 4 a.m. on May 29, and again around 10 p.m. on May 29 to 4 a.m. on May 30. At approximately 1 a.m., between Tower Road and E 56th Avenue, a slow rolling closure of Peña Boulevard traffic will be implemented for less than 10 minutes. Speeds will be significantly reduced. Crews will be transporting and setting bridge girders on E-470 over outbound Peña Blvd. (leaving DEN) between 11 p.m. on May 30 until 6 a.m. on May 31. Between Jackson Gap Street and E-470, approximately once every hour, slow, rolling closures of Peña will be implemented for approximately seven minutes. Speeds will be significantly reduced during this time.

What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $82,000.00-$109,000.00. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but is not limited to:

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

What You’ll Do

In the role of a Financial Analyst Specialist, you will help design, build, implement, and maintain aviation specific analytics and financial reporting solutions and forecasting for DEN. We are looking for a collaborator with knowledge and experience with financial and statistical analysis and reporting for large government agencies. This position will require an innovative initiative-taker with a passion for both finance and aviation, who is looking to build upon their existing skill set and grow professionally within the organization.

Specifically, as the Financial Analyst Specialist you will:

  • Function as subject matter expert on aviation statistics and reporting

  • Play a key role in enhancing the reporting function for DEN, including managing enterprise dashboards as well as designing, developing, and implementing new dashboard modules

  • Streamline processes and deliverables by leveraging technical system knowledge

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting financial results and other key performance indicators

  • Analyze and interpret financial and operating results, including investigating variances and making recommendations on corrective actions

  • Assist with preparation of budgets, forecasts, and various rates and charges deliverables

  • Provide broad-based, strategic perspective and recommendations to management based on creation and analysis of financial models and reports

  • Assist with special projects and perform ad-hoc requests as needed

  • Develop continuous process improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence

  • Enhance and provide excellent customer service

  • Direct the Passenger Facility Charge application process

  • Function as a team leader for ad-hoc projects

  • Develop and enhance financial models including the ability to do scenario analysis

  • Effectively collaborate across the organization and be able to build strong rapport with key contributors

  • Ability to make recommendations based on sound financial analysis

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration reporting such as Forms 126, 127, and the Airport Council International benchmarking survey

  • Ability to interpret financials for concession prospects and write succinct financial memos

About You

What You’ll Bring

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Experience with Excel, Workday, and/or ERP systems

  • Previous experience working with financial statements and supporting documents

  • Professional reporting and financial and statistical variance analysis experience

  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly to support the team

  • Previous experience with the Passenger Facility Application process

  • An effective leader

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to multi-task complex projects

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of full performance, professional level experience researching, analyzing, calculating, and compiling financial data, debt or portfolio administration, or financial statistical analysis.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. (Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements).

  • License/Certifications: None

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
