Airside Operations is responsible for the airport operating certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration and therefore is dedicated to the safety and efficiency of Denver International Airport for passengers, planes, and employees. Each day, Airside Operations performs inspections, responds to all emergencies, security issues, and maintains overall authority for facilities and airport surfaces. Our dedicated staff of highly trained and experienced individuals, working 24/7/365, work to make Airside Operations a dynamic and exciting place to work.

What You’ll Do
As an intern you will get to experience:
Learn and apply the theoretical and technical aspects of airport operations, with a focus on airside operations, including exposure to terminal operations, ramp tower operations, emergency management, and the airport communications center
Develop a knowledge of 14 CFR Part 139 regulations, airport flow and construction coordination, snow operations, and safe driving on an airfield
Perform practical assignments related to your technical field of study under general direction and supervision
Assist with multiple projects that have a real-world impact in Airside Operations
Attend meetings, conferences, or other educational classes to stay current with industry best practices and regulations and apply them to your work assignments

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education: Current enrollment in an accredited college program leading to a certificate, licensure, associates, bachelor’s, or higher degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or closely related field, or a recent graduate (completed specified program within 1 year of completion)
Education and Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted
Licensures/Certification(s): Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

This position requires working in the office for all required working hours. Employees work where needed to support business, at the Denver International Airport. We do not offer housing or relocation assistance for this position.
Internship Duration and Hours
This is a 1-year college internship with a completion date of Friday, May 2nd, 2025, working approximately 30 hours per week.
FBI Background Check
FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
