Community Stewardship

Denver International Airport (DEN) is one of the biggest and busiest airports in the world, serving over 64 million passengers per year and hosting approximately 35,000 jobs on-site. DEN community stewardship focuses on several key areas, including impacts to the surrounding community, the passenger experience and employee success. As the airport continues to grow and develop, we find ways to strengthen the community in which we operate and exceed the expectations of our neighbors, passengers and employees.

Passenger Experience

At DEN, it’s not only about getting passengers from one place to another. Instead, we hope to make every visit enjoyable and memorable. We want travelers to feel that DEN, its facilities and employees help them balance work and play. We offer a wide variety of local and healthy dining options, water bottle refilling stations, places of respite for religious worship, an open-air plaza to enjoy Colorado’s beautiful outdoors, a multitude of local art exhibits throughout the facility and a team of therapy dogs brightening the concourses to help reduce stress. Arts and Culture

Committed to enhancing the public spaces in the airport, DEN’s Art and Culture Program makes it easy for passengers to appreciate an abundance of public art. The program features nearly 30 site-specific works including sculptures, murals and other installations. Travelers can find the pieces displayed in outdoor landscapes, inside Jeppesen Terminal, on airport concourses and in train tunnels. In addition to its permanent collection, DEN continuously works to curate temporary exhibitions, collaborating with museums, cultural institutions and arts organizations to present the highest quality two- and three-dimensional work. Some pieces in the terminal are in temporary storage for the duration of the Great Hall renovation. For more information, visit www.flydenver.com/art.

Noise

Denver International Airport recognizes the negative impact that excessive noise can have on the surrounding community. We actively manage noise issues that affect the community and work with business partners and the Federal Aviation Administration to minimize noise impacts.
