Passengers with Special Needs

Denver International Airport prides itself on being a facility that is easy to use. Should you need help, we have resources to assist you.
Accessible parking spaces are available in Terminal Garage West and Terminal Garage East (Levels 1, 2, 4 and 5), the Economy West and Economy East parking lots, and Pikes Peak Shuttle Parking. All vans and buses serving the shuttle and economy parking lots are lift-equipped.
Wheelchair or electric cart service is available from your airline.
You can access all high-traffic areas of the airport – including ticketing, baggage claim, and all train stations – by elevators. Generally speaking, if you see an escalator, there is an elevator near by.
If you anticipate receiving a page or if you wish to leave a standard audible page, use a TTY unit and dial (800) 688-1333 for assistance.
All public area restrooms can accommodate people with disabilities. If you need assistance, you and the person assisting you may want to use one of our 16 unisex restrooms located throughout the terminal and concourses. Our Guest Services staff and Hospitality Ambassadors can help you find a unisex restroom. You can also use a white courtesy telephone (dial 2000) or a pay telephone at no charge (press button for Information and Paging) to obtain locations of the unisex restrooms.
Elevators are located within each of the terminal’s two security-screening areas and in the central areas of all concourses. Use an elevator to descend to the train station.
Several TTY public pay telephones for the deaf and hearing-impaired are conveniently located throughout the terminal and concourses. Each unit is marked with the international symbol for TTY. Guest Services staff and Hospitality Ambassadors can help you find a TTY unit.
Wheelchairs and electric cart service are provided by the airlines for their customers. Service can be requested from the airline in advance or at the ticket counter when you check in. Additionally, emergency wheelchairs are available through Travelers Assistance located in the Terminal and in the Concourse B Information Booth, or by calling (303) 342-0400.

The Division of Managed Care at Denver Health oversees the Denver Health Medical Center at Denver International Airport. Services include occupational medicine, primary health care, and injury care. The Medical Center serves the needs of travelers and visitors, city employees and businesses at or near DIA.
The medical center is located in the Jeppesen Terminal West atrium on the 6th Level at the north end. The Denver Health Medical Center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays. Patients are seen on either an appointment or walk-in basis. After-hours calls are managed by Denver Health paramedics at DIA. You can reach the center by calling (303) 317-0607.

Denver International Airport has 14 defibrillators available in passenger areas for use in cardiac emergencies. White signs labeled “Automatic External Defibrillators,” with a red heart and a stylized image of an electrical charge, identify the locations.
Four defibrillators can be found in Jeppesen Terminal, including one at the Information Booth, located on Terminal Level 5 near the fountain.
The devices are also mounted at several locations on the concourses.

DIA has 16 unisex (or family) restrooms for mothers or fathers who need to escort a child. Parents who need to change a baby’s diaper can do so in airport restrooms, which have built-in platforms for that purpose. Liquid baby formula and breast milk are allowed through security as long as the parent bringing it is with a child. Declare baby food or formula at passenger screening.

DIA realizes that some travelers, such as senior citizens or parents traveling with infants, may have special needs. Our Travelers Assistance Program volunteers can help. Travelers Assistance offers a range of services that includes providing wheelchairs or oxygen for passengers between flights. Travelers Assistance is located in Jeppesen Terminal on Level 5. If you have specific questions or need to make advance arrangements for special assistance not provided by your airline, call (303) 342-0400.
