NOTICE OF INVITATION FOR BIDS

CONTRACT NO. CE 90080

Rehabilitate Terminal Taxiway & Apron Drainage

Denver, Colorado March 16, 2009

Sealed bids for Contract No. CE 90080, Rehabilitate Terminal Taxiway & Apron Drainage will be received no later than:

2:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2009 Local Time

in the triple wide trailer, located within the DIA South Campus at 27301 E. 71st Avenue, Unit #2, Denver, CO 80249. Bids must be time stamped no later than 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2009, immediately after which a public bid opening will commence. Any bids to be submitted more than one hour prior to Bid Opening shall be submitted at the office of Technical Services, attention Nathan Jones, Room 8810, Airport Office Building (AOB), Denver International Airport, 8500 Peña Blvd., Denver, CO 80249-6340.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF WORK

Rehabilitate terminal taxiway and apron drainage (A-type expansion joints (doweled)) between concourses A, B & C; rehabilitate trench drain frames and grates around Concourses B & C apron; rehabilitate storm drop inlets at the taxiway and apron area; rehabilitate trench drain drop inlets along the apron areas; improve drainage for surface water ponding at the taxiway and apron areas.

PREQUALIFICATION

Each bidder must be pre-qualified in the category of CE-6, Paving Contractor OR CE-7, Pavement Rehabilitation and Repair Contractor, at the $5,000,000.00 level, in accordance with the City's Rules and Regulations Governing Prequalification of Contractors. Each bidder must have submitted a prequalification application a minimum of seven (7) calendar days prior to the bid opening date. Applications must be returned to the Department of Public Works, Prequalification Section, Dept. 506, 201 West Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO 80202. PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND INSPECTION

All bidders are required to attend a MANDATORY pre-bid conference at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 20, 2009, in the triple wide trailer, located within the DIA South Campus at 27301 E. 71st Avenue, Unit #2, Denver, CO 80249. A site visit will be conducted immediately following the Pre-Bid Conference.

DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PARTICIPATION

Federally-funded construction, reconstruction, remodeling, and professional design services contracts made and entered into by the City and County of Denver are subject to Federal statutes and regulations regarding Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation.

The Director of the Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO) is authorized to establish project goals for expenditures on construction, reconstruction and remodeling and professional design services work let by the City and County of Denver. The specific goal for this project is 6% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).

The project goal must be met with certified participants as set forth in 49 CFR Part 26 or through the demonstration of a sufficient good faith effort under 49 CFR Part 26.

The Director of the Division of Small Business Opportunity urges all participants in the construction, reconstruction, remodeling, and professional design services projects not to discriminate against women and minorities or any other persons and to assist in achieving these goals.

MISCELLANEOUS

As its best interests may appear, the City and County of Denver reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bids.

The work under the Contract is subject to minimum wage rates established by the City and County of Denver Career Service Board.
