Denver International Airport (DIA) is hosting a temporary art exhibition throughout August to celebrate the fourth USA Pro Challenge race in Colorado, which will take place August 18-24. DIA, VISIT DENVER and race organizers have joined together once again to bring airport visitors a bicycle-themed art exhibition. A group of up-and-coming local artists, enlisted by Ivar Zeile of the Plus Gallery, created works of art using bicycles as their canvasses. The art exhibit will be displayed on top of baggage carousels, located on the east and west sides of the Jeppesen Terminal (Level 5).
“Artists featured in the exhibit include Alvin Gregorio, Evan Mann, Joe Riche/Demiurge, Scott Ferguson, Andrew Huffman, Becky Jewell, Sandra Fettingis, Matt Harris and Laura Shill. At the end of the exhibit, the bicycles will be auctioned to benefit local charities.
“Denver International Airport is a connecting hub for more than 50 million passengers from around the world and is home to one of the most well-known art programs of any airport in the country,” said Denver’s Manager of the Art and Culture Program, Chris Stevens. “We are proud to be a part of the journey again with the local art community and USA Pro Challenge race organizers.”
