Hensel Phelps, the general contractor/construction management firm, has an 18% minority- and women-owned business (M/WBE) project goal for Phase I. Hensel Phelps and DEN have partnered with minority-serving industry organizations to help bring awareness, networking, education and training opportunities to all certified firms. 

DEN is committed to a strong partnership with our business community and to ensuring local businesses have viable opportunities in building DEN's future. The City and County of Denver and DEN procurement procedures are designed to be fair, transparent, and allow competition to thrive. We will continue to work hand-in-hand with the DEN Commerce Hub and Denver’s Office of Economic Development and Opportunity (DSBO) to ensure the public is aware of opportunities to work on the Great Hall Completion Project. DEN aims to foster these efforts by including information regarding opportunities and outreach events.

For small businesses, visibility plays a key role in developing new relationships and securing new opportunities. Obtaining a minority or women-owned business (M/WBE) certification as another tool that can be used to help increase that visibility. We strongly encourage all eligible firms to become certified as a M/WBE with the City and County of Denver's Economic Development Office.
